The patented, new, JUGE®-Slash Proof
Neck Guard is made of a unique slash proof mesh material, Dyneema®,
which is the world’s strongest fiber. Dyneema® is a superstrong
polyethylene fiber that offers maximum strength with minimum weight. It
is up to 15 times stronger than quality steel and up to 40% stronger than
aramid fibers, both on weight for weight basis. JUGE® is the first
neck guard on the market to have passed the extensive and demanding slash
tests by the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health.
The inner layer of the JUGE®-guard
is Coolmax®, which absorbs moisture away from the skin. CoolMax®
has been specially engineered to keep you dry and comfortable through
proprietary four-channel fibers. When the body perspires, CoolMax®
moves moisture quickly away from the skin to the outer layer of the
fabric. It then dries that moisture faster than any other fabric on
the market today.
The dimensions of the JUGE®-guard are
made according to the Technical Specification TS18114 of the European
Committee for Standardization. This Technical Specification is the guideline
that will set the standards for all future ice hockey neck guards. The
Finnish Ice Hockey Association has already incorporated these specifications
to their rulebook. |
